Medical education across the world is challenged with the issue of building competence amongst health professionals. Capacity building of health professional educators is the single most important intervention that can influence the quality of patient care which contributes to better health outcome of the population.
As we are living in the era of globalization and information technology, we are witnessing an explosion in the body of knowledge, and phenomenal growth in the enrolment of students, coupled with a shortage of teachers. The situation has therefore challenged the medical educationists to address the issue of research and its application in enhancing the quality of education. The 7th GCC Medical Education Conference is an attempt to focus research as a cornerstone for launching reforms in medical education.
King Faisal University, with its commitment for excellence in medical education, is happy to host the conference in the vibrant city of Al-khobar. We look forward to your active participation at the 7th GCC Medical Education Conference in November 2009.
